Brooke Olimpieri calls herself the ‘Filthy Mouth Creative’. So it’s no surprise that her images would evoke a similar distinction of ‘filth’ (well, depending on how big a wuss you are). Olimpieri’s latest collection of stills Lost Vegas is getting made into a book for you to observe with equal feelings of nostalgia and youthful self-loathing. Think Lana Del Rey: The Book.

In Lost Vegas Olimpieri perfectly captures the unheard, uncelebrated side of Sin City. Away from the glitz and glamour of Ceasar’s are dismal scenarios of youth lust, negligence and self-destruction. But Olimpieri also conveys female liberalism with zest. Her subjects are mostly half-clad, barely clad, or completely naked. However, this theme repeats itself so many times that the idea of female nudity becomes blithe. Perhaps Olimpieri’s goal is to discredit the archaic taboo surrounding femininity. If so, this ‘foul mouth’ photographer has accomplished her goal.

Lost Vegas is out December 1 via Imperial Publishers. You can pre-order here.
