Hand embroidery artist James Merry brings new life to old logos with his floral touch. Based in Iceland and working from a cabin studio on a lake, it’s pretty easy to imagine where he gets his inspiration from. Self-taught in his craft, Merry has worked for Opening Ceremony in the past and is a frequent collaborator with Icelandic singer Björk, who is often sporting his impressive, otherworldly headpieces.
His embellished sportswear logo series began during a period he spent in New York, where the peaceful transformation of old jumpers allowed for an escape from the concrete jungle. You can check out more of Merry’s work here, and be sure to suss the lush jumpers in the gallery above.
