This Carhartt collab is part art installation, part skate park

Skate meets fashion meets art meets math

The Detroit brand that never seems to slow down and never seems to stick to just clothing has just announced an insane new collaboration. Fresh off releasing a car with Chevrolet and dropping the Carhartt WIP Archives, the workwear brand teams up with ISLE Skateboards and Raphaël Zarka.

Together they have conjured, Paving Space, “concerning geometrical abstraction”. The collection contains several distinct elements, including a range of skate decks and T-shirts that feature designs imagined based off mathematical geometry forms. These graphics also feature in a physical form as solid wooden sculptures that double as art and skate obstacles.

The beautifully grained, sleek wood of the skate sculptures are far your usual grunge skate parks, designed by French artist Raphaël Zarka who was able to combine his love of art and skateboarding to create an interactive exhibit. The Paved Space will be open from the 18-23 November at Protein Studio in London. The collection will be available online and in Carhartt WIP stores from November 18. In the meantime have a look at a few pieces from the collaboration above.
