Simply because it’s 2014 and by now it’s been firmly established that just about anything is possible, the Sith Lord is running for presidency in Ukraine and was recently snapped by the political paparazzi out and about campaigning/converting people to the Dark Side in his home town of Odessa.

Darth Vader – who’s actually an electrician Viktor Shevchenko who changed his name in March – has joined the presidential race as leader of the Internet Party of Ukraine, which has reportedly even paid the $225,000 registration fee to make the Lord a full-fleged, not-jokin’-around-here-mate presidential candidate. Even though Vader has been copping some shade from Ukraine’s Central Electoral Commission, which called his application “questionable”, he and his Storm Troopers have appealed the refusal and are continuing to march onwards with their fight to overthrow the Emperor, or Putin.

Take a scroll through the gallery and see Luke’s father winning over hearts at the popular family hot-spot, the Heroic Defense of Odessa Battery Memorial.
