There’s really nobody else you would expect to fit out football giant Brasil than sportswear giant Nike. And with the hype for next year’s Football World Cup in Rio de Janeiro starting to build to epic proportions, Nike have unveiled images of the official national kit for the host country’s team.

Never one to skimp on style or function, Nike has tailored the uniforms – all the way down to the socks – to fit each individual player for optimal comfort, support and natural movement during gameplay. Of course, the traditional green, yellow and blue colourway is still incorporated in the jersey and shorts with a slight update to the national crest and branding. Personal touches have also been made to the name and number on each jersey, utilising a font commonly seen in Brasilian hand printed street posters. Luis Filipe Scolari’s men will be sporting the new kit throughout the summer tournament next year.

Check out the new kit details, and as modeled on posterboys Neymar and Luiz Gustavo, in our gallery above. And if you’re a Brasilian ex-pat in Australia – or just a fan of A Seleção, like me – you can cop your own piece of World Cup merch (RRP $100) via Nike Only Stores, Rebel and nikestore.com.au from December 6.
