01. SAHXL - BETTER THAN LATER

If you’re a fan of alternative R&B, you need to get across this new one from SAHXL. Atmospheric production sets the tone for this young prospect to absolutely croon his heart out. It’s that late-night drive type of music; the perfect companion as you cruise along the Westgate as the sun is setting. It appears on SAHXL’s new project NEVERMIND which dropped today.

02. Chanel Loren - Ring Ring

Ring Ring’ is an anthem dedicated to getting money! Chanel Loren swaps her signature melodies for swag-heavy raps, absolutely sliding over ear-catching basslines from producer JUJO. This track is slated to appear on Loren’s upcoming EP BETWEEN2WORLDS, which is set to release on July 12th.

03. A.Girl - Can't Be U

A.GIRL is floating on ‘Can’t Be U’. She seamlessly weaves catchy melodies into her flows, which are propelled by some glossy synths and thumping kicks. She’s talking directly to a romantic interest, reflecting on their trials and tribulations. It’s a song about love, but A.GIRL simply has too much style to serenade.

04. Jalmar - TRA TRA

This new Jalmar song is an absolute banger! Fast past percussion makes this one to bust a move to. Jalmar is almost shout-rapping, injecting every line with high-octane hype. The vocal sample, taken from Brazilian group Barbatuques’ iconic track ‘Baiana’ loops in the background, making the song an automatic earworm. There’s no better way to bring in the weekend than with ‘TRA TRA’.

05. King Ivy - Closure ft. Yb.

This new King Ivy song feels like the sun shining through the rain clouds of Winter. Guitars jangle with warmth from within a icy, shoegaze-esque atmosphere. Both King Ivy and Yb.’s voices shine as sources of comfort from within the cold. It’s a truly lush listen.

06. BlazeYL - Straight Out Of Kennington ft. Blanco, NSJ Mali

This new track from BlazeYL, Blanco, and NSJ Mali is an ode to their neighbourhood. It’s reflective, hearkening back to the good and bad times through emphatic raps. The production pairs urgent drill drum patterns with serene saxophones and synths; the perfect atmosphere for each emcee to pop off. It appears on BlazeYL’s new album The Cost of Being, which you can stream now.

07. Moses, TaktiX - WOT?

Moshpits are going to go wild for this new Moses and TaktiX song. They bring braggadocious bars to a hard-hitting trap beat akin to something you’d hear on Future’s Monster. At only 2 minutes long, the duo hit you with a barrage, and then bounce. It’s short and undeniably sweet.

08. Sheff G - Everything Lit

You for sure know what to expect with this new Sheff G song, who is fresh home from a stint. Eerie synths sit atop explosive drum patterns, making the production feel like a drill battlefield. Sheff’s flows are scattered but hit like mortars alongside bellowing 808s. It’s a welcome return from the NYC driller.

09. YNG Martyr - Guapanese

As soon as you see the title of this new YNG Martyr song, you know it’s going to be time well spent. It wastes no time getting to business, blasting off with a brass-heavy trap beat. YNG Martyr is money-crazed through a series of vocal inflections and flow switches. It’s a hard-hitting love letter to cash!

010. 3% - Coming Home ft. Calula Webster

‘Coming Home’ delves into mental health and the strife of trying to make it through struggle. Nooky, Angus Field, and Dallas Woods are open books, diving into these themes with an admirable amount of honesty. The song features a sample of the iconic Jimmy Little’s ‘Royal Telephone’, which adds an extra layer of emotion to this triumphant confessional.
