Details regarding Kendrick’s third studio album have been pretty hush hush until now, over the past week we have learned the release date, title and artwork but the track-list is still TBA.

His new album is entitled To Pimp a Butterfly and will be released by Aftermath/Interscope records in stores and online on March 23. The artwork features a group of men and boys in front of the White House holding money and bottles with a body in the foreground.

Last month saw the release of the second single from the album (assuming ‘i’ is still on the cards to be on the tracklist) was ‘The Blacker the Berry’ which received mixed reviews regarding its lyrical content and politically critical message. If Kendrick follows the same position set out in his first single we may be in for one of the most political-charged rap albums in recent years.
