SZA shows us where the hell she’s been in new mini-doco

Looks like everything's under control

It’s been a couple of years since SZA dropped her last album, Z, and fans have been impatiently waiting on the TDE artist to cement details of her next project. So far this year, it’s been revealed the new album will be title Ctrl and that it would be dropping “very soon”. And while things still seem to be a little up in the air, the reveal of a brand new, interactive site this morning has the singer’s fans very, very excited.

szactrl.com gives people a chance at playing with the kind of dreamy beats SZA gravitates towards, listen to her new track ‘Drew Barrymore’, and lurk some new merch (which we hope is also dropping soon). Another major highlight is also the mini-documentary, aptly titled WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN: road to Ctrl. This echoes the general sentiment of Solana’s avid fans but fortunately manages to answer the question without giving too much away.

So where has SZA been? Touring, recording, performing, and recording some more – so don’t worry, the music is coming and if the sneaky previews are anything to go by, it’s sounding really fucking good. If you still need to get up to speed, check out the clip above, which was shot and edited by Jason Chandler, Cody Jordan, James Rothman, and Fredo Tovar.
