After a very, very productive 2016, one of our favourite party-starters MIMI is back on our radar. This time, she’s helping to put on a good time for a good cause and will be spinning at ‘All of the Tights’, a hip-hop yoga night which will raise funds for The Salvation Army. The night will be hosted by yogi Drew Wilson, while MIMI provides the tunes. You’re probably wondering how the likes of Drake, Chance The Rapper, Kanye West, or DJ Khaled could really help you find your inner zen but if you’re yet to act on your fitness-related New Year’s resolution, this might be the perfect thing to get you on the path to more success.

Or maybe you’re pretty happy with yourself and need little excuse to get down in the name of mindfulness and charity. We feel like MIMI’s still probably riding on a high from her multiple wins of the past 12 months, so we asked her to share a few of her self-love anthems. Of course, they’re all on point and are all currently on repeat to help us celebrate the end of our first working week of 2017.

01. Tinashe - 'Company'

To me, the best way to really internalise and fully enjoy a song is to listen to it on repeat til it sickens you. This one I had on REPEAT whilst getting ready for last year’s TLC support shows. Now that the film clip has come out and I’ve given it a break, I can still re-listen to it. The production really reminds me of the Britney Blackout album. Do yourself an absolute favour and listen to that album – it is an underrated piece of pop perfection.

02. Snoop Dogg - 'Sensual Seduction'

This is not just an underrated Snoop song but underrated song in general.

03. Lil Kim - 'How Many Licks (Soul Society remix)'

A super sleek rework of a classic. It’s uplifting for the 9pm time-slot. Keep the original for 2am when you’re in the zone.

04. RIhanna - 'Pose'

This is one in case anyone didn’t get the Anti Deluxe version. It’s a really unusual song with some interesting harmonic choices from a production side. There’s a lot going on and it has no real structure but it really pushes the boundaries as a Rihanna song – but once lyrically and especially the part at 1.16min mark, you’ll understand why I had this one on repeat as a ‘get ready’ jam.

05. Prince - 'Cream'

This is one of those songs I WISH I had written. I will never ever ever get sick of it. It is such a strip-jam and I think a lot of songs to get you in the mood and feeling yourself are. There is nothing I can fault about this song.
