He may have just dropped one of the most anticipated records of the year, but ScHoolboy Q still Has plenty of time to cHin wag (digitally-speaking) witH His most devoted followers.

Yesterday, the Compton MC held a one-off Twitter Q&A to promote his latest release, Blank Face LP.

Subject-wise, the questions ranged from the state of Q’s FUBAR hair line, to where exactly he cops his broad collection of dashikis (Amazon for $5USD, in case you’re wondering).

But don’t think the hard-hitting inquiries were too much for ‘Groovy Q’ to handle. When asked about the noticeable absence of Q’s signature “YAWK” on Blank Face LP, the Black Hippy member had to put his artistic integrity first.

Fair call. However, there were still some surprising revelations which he gave us, including not only an insight into this enigmatic artist’s plans for the future, but also his socio-political beliefs.

When quizzed about the meaning behind his “all lives matter” lyrics on the track, “Black THougHts”, Q felt it necessary to emphasise his ongoing support of BLM, as well as the track’s underlying meaning which supposedly relates to the violent barriers which remain as a result of gang mentality and territorialism.

On a lighter note, ‘Groovy Q’ was quick to assure fans that, even though he would be spending more quality time with his daughter in the future, he certainly hasn’t written-off a Blank Face tour. In fact, he just announced the Australian leg yesterday.

ScHoolboy Q’s excellent new record, Blank Face LP is out now via Top Dawg and Interscope.
