With the help of ‘revolutionary cushioning,’ ‘a passion for science’ and using buff ’80s sport stars, in terms of advertising, they just don’t make ‘em like they used to. When was the last time you saw an advertisement with graphs, statistics and that much text? Nike in the ’80s was all about science.
Using bold statements like ‘Man does not live by one sport alone’ and ‘You don’t have to take our word for it, just ask any of the quarterbacks who have to face [campaign athlete] Howie Long,’ it makes us wish that sports advertisements these days had as much zing.
