Dave Chappelle’s return to television on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live was long-awaited and received incredibly well across his international fan base. It was obvious that, despite his extended vacay from the spotlight, that the Chappelle Show creator and comedian still had plenty of laughs left up his sleeve. And as much as we loved his characteristic brand of topical and confronting skits, it definitely left many of us wanting more. Welp, as they say: ask, and you shall receive.

The lords of on-demand entertainment, Netflix, have answered our prayers and commissioned three (yes, you read right) new comedy specials from the veteran comedian. There are no specific details yet about the actual date of these specials or what they’re even going to be, but here’s hoping they come sooner rather than later. And with the success of other Netflix-exclusive comedy programs – Hannibal Burress’ stand-up specials, Aziz Ansari’s award-winning Master of None – we’re expecting some big (and hilarious) things from Dave. At the very least, as proven by his impeccably timed SNL appearance, he will bring some much needed laughter to a world that will probably need a lot of cheering up in the near future.

We’ll keeping an keen eye open for more details as they emerge, but in the meantime, we’ll join everyone else sharing their anticipation of these projects online and maybe cue up a Chappelle Show marathon in the meantime.
