Footnotes is a weekly wrap-up of everything that’s happening in the world of sneakers. It’s your cheat sheet to the latest news like new drops, collabs, sales, store openings, and anything else related to what you put on your feet.

01. Golf le Fleur x Converse One Star

The second wave of Tyler the Creator’s collab with Converse is a colourful take on the ’70s One Star, which reworks the model in four hues of suede (pink, yellow, blue, and purple). The sneaker is inspired by Tyler’s most recent album Flower Boy, and has been released under the label Golf Wang that he started in 2010 with Odd Future. The unique design is a testament to the rapper’s bubbly character, featuring a custom-stitched flower around the star on the lateral panel, Golf Wang’s iconic flower logo on the bottom of the outsole, the text ‘DON’T LET EM KILL YOUR FLOWERS, WATER YOUR GARDEN AND STUNT’ above the outsole, and a bee on the rear heel panel.

The model will be available from Golf Wang’s sneaker division on August 3.

02. Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD HU Trail

Talking of rapper-sneaker collabs, Pharrell and Adidas have just dropped the latest Adidas Originals’ PW Tennis HU model—the HU NMD Trail silhouette. The low-top sneaker boasts a Primeknit upper, TPU paneling, a BOOST midsole and a grooved outsole, making it a durable sneaker perfect for the outdoors. There are two types to choose from: the vibrant ‘Noble Ink’ is multicoloured and features the text ‘BODY’ on the right shoe’s upper, while the monochromatic version is adorned with ‘CLOUDS’.

The sneaker will be on the market for approximately $250 USD, and is set to release in November.

03. Reebok Sock Runner Ultraknit in 'Moss Brown'

A design that definitely makes you look twice, Reebok’s Sock Runner Ultraknit is a sock-like sneaker that combines comfort, style, and athletics. Initially revealed in black, the model is now back in ‘moss brown’, and features a high sock upper in a dark brown hue and a black and white midsole.

You can purchase the Sock Runner for approximately $250 USD at select stores such as Titolo. Vetements is also set to release a high fashion version of the shoe soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

04. Nike Air Force 1 All-Over Print Pack

The traditional Nike Air Force 1 is getting a bold makeover in the new and aptly named ‘all-over print’. The pack comes in a trio of red, white and black, and is entirely embossed with Nike Air logos – well, apart from the midsole and the main Swooshes themselves.

Nike is yet to release the date you purchase this striking new sneaker, but stay tuned for updates.

05. Revenge x Storm Tokyo Pop-Up Shop

Rumours of Ian Connor opening a Revenge x Storm pop-up shop have been circulating the internet for a while now. The store finally made its appearance in Tokyo last weekend, where his take on the Vans Old Skools were on display. The modified Vans came in white, black, yellow, and black with flame detailing—which those lucky enough to hit DOMICILE TOKYO in Shibuya during the 22-23 of July were able to pick up.

06. Nike’s latest SF-AF1 Mid

Nike has reworked the SF-AF1 with prime mesh panelling on the leather upper, allowing wearers ultimate breathability. The military inspired sneaker combines ‘cargo-khaki’ coloured leather with striking parts of ‘total crimson’ mesh.

You can expect the vibrant new SF-AF1 to launch on August 10 at Nike’s web shop as well as international stockists
