Fans of Studio Ghibli films will probably be the first to tell you how beautiful they are in every way. The heartwarming, often fantastical stories and endearingly animated characters, are scored by the perfect soundtracks and it’s the latter that has gotten some extra love recently. Online radio station NTS has decided to dedicate three episodes to the music featured in Studio Ghibli films and have kicked things off with an hour-long mix of sounds from movies between 1986-1992. These include the sonic stylings from classics such as My Neighbour Totoro, Porco Rosso, Castle in the Sky, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Film buffs will automatically be transported to their favourite scenes but even if you’re not intimately familiar with the Studio’s back catalogue, this mix makes for a nice change to your ambient, background music. Give it a spin below and maybe note down the movies you’re going to cue up later.
