Moving on from Dior, Raf Simons has been formally appointed as chief creative officer at Calvin Klein. The Belgium designer is being touted as being the key to Calvin Klein’s on-going growth and success, with Steve Shiffman, CEO of Calvin Klein stating, “The arrival of Raf Simons as chief creative officer signifies a momentous new chapter. Not since Mr. Klein himself was at the company has it been led by one creative visionary, and I am confident that this decision will drive the Calvin Klein brand and have a significant impact on its future.”

These statements make it clear that full confidence has been bestowed upon Simons, which is more than understandable as he is backed by years of exceptional experience, and is a well known influential figure throughout the fashion industry.

His newly appointed role will have him overseeing all aspects of design, global marketing and communications, and visual creative services whilst leading the creative strategy of the Calvin Klein collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Home brands. Simons isn’t wasting any time, going straight to work, as his first collection with the brand is set to debut for the Fall  2017 season, and as things develop, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
