adidas and Raf Simons have collaborated to turn out another round of high-end sneakers. This is the second time the revered designer has worked with adidas, having released two remixed ’90s adidas classics last year with wildly popular results.

This year he is back with a 20-piece collection that is decidedly bolder than the Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Simons has effectively tailored classic adidas sneakers, including the Stan Smith and Bounce trainer, to the comic book and Lego-inspired themes from his own apparel line.

The line merges adidas designs with the jarring shapes and surreal vision of Raf Simon’s new collection. The vibrant colour palette including bright pinks and yellows alongside primary hues highlights the playful aesthetic Simons aimed to create. The striking collection builds further on Adidas’ ‘shoe-in-shoe’ concept, adding further dimensions with adjustable plastic heel tabs and exaggerated silhouettes.

Adidas is quickly establishing itself at forefront of high fashion footwear collabs, releasing lines with noted designers such as Jeremy Scott, Mark McNairy and Rick Owens.

Priced between $440–570, the collection will drop in coming weeks at Adidas Originals store and retailers like oki-ni and No. 74 Berlin.
