Remember when Raf Simons dropped that first footwear collection with adidas and everyone was like ‘Okay Raf, they’re a little conceptual but A$AP seems to fuck with it so I think I can get down?’ – Even though secretly you thought they kind of looked like technicolour orthopaedic shoes? Well Raf clearly doesn’t care what you think, because he just followed up with a Spring/Summer collection that blows any sense of restraint out of the water. The collection kind of looks like a ménage à trois between X-Men’s Cyclops, Mondrian’s Broadway Boogie Woogie, and Optimus Prime. Think of it as conceptual art, like Wim Delvoye’s shit machine – am I glad that exists? Definitely, without a doubt. Do I want it in my house? Well. . .
