The always interesting, always evolving, revolutionary Chinese artist Ai Weiwei is set to release more controversial work, this time in the form of music. In a move that has once again intrigued the global art community, the artist announced that he is planning on releasing an album of heavy metal music.

He admitted to not really being interesting in music till his detainment by the Chinese government in 2011, when guards asked him to sing songs for them out of boredom, later admitting to only knowing revolutionary tunes. Match that with a recent meeting of the minds with Elton John, along with influence with friend, local rock musician Zuoxiao Zuzhou and we’re getting set for one of the most unique art in recent times.
