As part of the Rock Werchter Music festival in Belgium, Belgian artist Arne Quinze curated the North West Walls street art project. Involved were street artists Pichi & Avo, Martin Ron, Defo, as well as Roa and tattoo/graff artist Jen Zie, who got given the challenge of utilising three huge towers of shipping containers.
It was monochrome versus vibrant colour as they depicted caged animals, Menelaus and Achilles, a portrait of festival truck driver ‘Blue’, skulls and death. Next year a new set of artists will be wiping the slate clean and throwing up completely unique designs. Click through the gallery to see what they came up with.
