Banksy and Medicom team up for new ‘Monkey Sign’ figurine

Fans and collectors are already going ape for this

Posted by

The influential and frustratingly cryptic Banksy has once more teamed up with prolific toy makers, Medicom to release a new vinyl figurine based on one of the UK artist’s most famous illustrations. ‘Monkey Sign’ is exactly what its name suggests; a monkey wearing a sandwich board sign which reads “DO NOTHING, YOU’LL LIVE LONGER”. However, this is different to Banksy’s original print which read “Laugh now, but one day we’ll be in charge”.

While the figurine has many other differences from the original print, including the dimensions of the ape and the its facial expression [which seems far more nefarious this time] there’s no doubt collectors and Banksy fans alike will be going ape to get their hands on this.

Unfortunately, the figure has already sold out, even with a selling price of approximately $630 USD [roughly $845 AUD]. That being said, be sure to keep your eyes peeled. After all, when’s the next time you’ll be able to touch something that was also handcrafted by the alluring artist himself? P.S. We all know it’s you, 3D.
