If you thought the holiday season was going to make the Cards Against Humanity team any softer, you thought wrong. Their ‘Eight Sensible Gifts of Hanukkah’ is currently testing the decency of its 150,000 subscribers by asking them to vote on the fate of an original Picasso artwork. The CAH team purchased what’s believed to be one of 50 original prints of Picasso’s ‘Tête de Faune’, which was initially produced in 1962, and are currently holding it hostage as part of their holiday giveaway.

“Should we donate this work to the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, or should we laser-cut it into 150,000 tiny squares and send everyone their own scrap of a real Picasso?”

So while it’s probably not as offensive as it sounds, it’s still a pretty tough choice to make because what is anyone going to do with 1.5mm of an artwork anyway, even if it is a Picasso. They’ve also released a taunting video of the piece sitting under an overly eager laser-cutter because drama.

We’d like to think that actual sensibility will prevail in this situation but then again, these could be the same fans who knowingly paid the game company $5 each during the Black Friday sales for absolutely nothing in return. Voting closes on December 31, so we’ll have to wait until the new year to find out the fate of ‘Tête de Faune’.
