Why does Detroit need a 10-foot Bronze statue of RoboCop? ‘Why not!’ was the answer from Imagination Station Detroit and a small team of initiators called Team Robo. Denied funding from the Mayor, a Kickstarter campaign was launched and managed to raise more than the $50,000 needed to turn the dream of making Detroit the “coolest city on earth” a reality.

Already well under way these images show the unfinished product in its physical fabrication of clay, wax, foam and steel to be sent off to be manufactured and cast in bronze. The finished piece will be erected on land donated by the Imagination Station near Michigan Central Station.
