They say drowning is the most peaceful way to die. Peaceful or not there’s something sort of ethereal and old timey about going down with a ship or being swallowed by the sea, which I’m kinda down with. The act of sinking appears to be something artist, The Seven Seas, is also down with, and it is the theme he explores in his first solo show opening this week, ‘Sink’.

‘Sink’ is a new body of work from Melbourne-based artist and explores the themes of “positive and negative forces and crossing over into parallel universes”. Sounds trippy. The show will feature large works on paper, sculpture and installation. Wanna know more? Well, how about you watch the video at the end of the gallery above. It’s pretty peaceful actually. Maybe there’s something to this whole drowning = chill, thing.

Anyway the show opens tomorrow night at the No Vacancy Project Space at Fed Square (do not go to the QV one, it shan’t be there). You can then view the works ‘til July 6th.
