Our prayers have been answered. Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle returns with his original cast of Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle for the follow up to the ’90s cult hit Trainspotting. The long-awaited sequel reportedly started shooting on May 16, and although the 45-second clip that hit YouTube at the same time doesn’t show anything we haven’t seen before, it brings a promise of T2 in less than a year’s time.

With a release date for January 27, waiting till next year is really no big feat considering we’ve already waited 20 years since the original 1996 blockbuster hit. Based on the novel Porno by Irvine Welsh, the story comes as a follow-up to his previous novel Trainspotting. Check out the refresher-trailer above for a taste of T2 that’s better than T2’s ‘Melbourne Breakfast.’
