The Volvo Art Session is a live art art project unfolding over May in Zurich’s main train station. The unique art show, which invites Swiss and international artists to apply their artistic vision to the canvas of a blank Volvo is now entering its fourth year. Past shows have seen the likes of Erik Johansson and Daim artistically reimagine the classic Volvo silhouette.

This year, organisers invited Austrian artist, Nychos to bring his brand of graffiti art to one of their vehicles with impressive result. Recently Zurich’s railway commuters and urban art fans were able to glimpse a live viewing of Nychos spray painting his signature theme of dissection and rupturing onto the lucky Volvo.

Through dismantling and separately painting each segment of the car before reassembly, Nychos’ Volvo is given a mesmerising 3D feel to it. Producing an end result that effectively conveys the artist’s vision of the car as an organic form.

Be sure to have flick through the gallery above while you’re at it.
