Amazon’s robot stylist is here and it’s definitely going to judge your outfits

For all those times you've wanted to ask a robot for style advice

Amazon has launched a new addition to its collection of connected-home products with the Echo Look, a camera that will take a photo of your outfit, rate it and give you a second opinion. Essentially the fashion version of Amazon’s personal assistant Alexa, Echo Look is an oval-shaped device that has a voice controlled camera, allowing you to snap full length outfit photos and videos, which can then be used to collect and compare all your outfits in what Amazon calls a “personal lookbook”. This sort of sounds like the modern robot version of that outfit selector that Cher had in Clueless more than 20 years ago, which, while a pretty handy idea, might not be the most frequently used electronic device. Getting up and out of the house in the morning can be hard enough without some robot judging your get up, but if you’re after a little sartorial guidance, maybe the Echo Look is the invention for you. Head to Amazon to learn more, but a heads up, for now they’re only available via invitation, but they will retail at a cool $200 once they can be purchased by us mere mortals.
