The crispness of winter is definitely in the air right now, and it’s easy to feel some type of way about the looming grey days. There can be something magical about those chill months though and if you’re lucky enough to be somewhere that is prone to snow, these days can be just that little bit more bearable. Photographer Cat Wratten recently spent time in the New York winter, exploring the Burroughs with mates, and capturing the NYC experience in the stillness of the season. Quite contrary to the non-stop bustling metropolis we’re used to seeing in images of the Big Apple, there’s a quiet calm about the streets blanketed in snow.
