Okay so not ~really~, but these Photoshopped covers of imagined Criterion editions of films from the Simpsons universe are pretty brilliant. Designer Christian Lynch adapted the contributions to the Springfield Film Festival from classic 1995 episode “A Star is Burns” from season six (which is the ‘classic episodes’ zone, for you Simpsons backpackers). At the end of the ep, Barney’s beautifully tragic Pukahontas wins the grand prize. Fun fact: Christian Lynch has also done work for talk show Conan whose host, Conan O’Brien, is a former Simpsons writer and made various cameos in the two seasons preceding “A Star is Burns”. Small worlds, big Simpsons.
