Victorians are getting naughtier, according to new data from Crime Statistics Agency which has revealed that crime in the state has been steadily increasing over the past five years.
The CSA identified that in the past year, drug offences have increased, with use and possession up 22 per cent and dealing and trafficking up by 2o per cent.
Most worryingly, stalking, harassment and threatening behaviour has been on the rise with a 12 per cent increase over the past 12 months; weapons and explosives offences also rose by 12 per cent. In contrast, disorderly and offensive conduct offences have decreased by around 10 per cent.
The CSA only reports on offences which have been reported to the police, which makes it difficult to say if there has been an actual increase in crime or if it’s a product of increased police presence. Either way, quit it with the creepy shit VIC.
