New Era Australia has released a video featuring AFL footballer Harry O’Brien in a frank interview about his encounters with racism. The video is shot overlooking Fitzroy’s commission flats, the scene of O’Brien’s first experience of Australia. Born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and an African father, the footballer discusses incidences of racial abuse that he faced while playing sport as a kid, saying that he now has an opportunity to discuss injustices he’s witnessed and stand up against racism in sport.
