Boston duo Soul Clap approach music like two men in the future looking over the shoulder of the present and into the past. Their heavy use of digital programming with experimental flourishes steeped in the worn trimmings of funk’s heyday is a perfect fit for any celebration of contemporary art and music. With Sugar Mountain on the horizon, its probably unsurprising that the duo, as well known for their loud fashion sense as they are for their music, are standing so close to its summit.
In the lead-up to one of our most hyped gatherings of creative minds, Bamboozle and Lonely C have snuck us a tasty exclusive mix of funk, disco and a sprinkling of deep house. Give it a listen below and if you need some reading material while you jam out, why not check out our interview with the duo about their collaboration with Parliament’s George Clinton and their memories from the last time in Melbourne?
