If the two years since Kiss Land came out have been tough on you, we have some good news—The Weeknd has officially confirmed rumours surrounding the release date of his second studio album and it’s probably a lot sooner than you were expecting.
When the album’s title appeared on iTunes New Zealand on Thursday, fans on OVOforums quickly began to debate the reliability of the information. Abel himself has since announced that his latest effort, previously known as Chapter 3, will be titled Beauty Behind the Madness and is set for release on the August 28. While a full tracklist is yet to be announced, ‘Often,’ ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ all make an appearance, which is definitely a promising sign.
The album’s artwork continues the warped B-movie theme which was established in the designs which featured on ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel my Face.’
It’s rumoured that Kanye West will be the only other artist to feature on the album, which means that while Abel might not be teaming up with his buddy Drake any time soon, we’ll certainly be hearing a lot about it in the next few weeks.
