Coming to a turntable and dance floor near you is Plastic World. A brand new imprint focusing on pushing emerging Australian music on a global scale, headed by James McInnes from Future Classics and Astral People co-creator Vic Edirisinghe. The duo are together responsible for touring and promoting an array of talented musicians, from headlining internationals to undiscovered local bedroom producers across Australia.

Focusing on 12″ vinyl releases to be released mainly in Europe, Plastic World is getting out from under the sometimes limiting Australian scenes, where getting radio airplay is often more important than the quality of the releases.

The debut release will be Sydney duo Alba (formerly known as Albatross) whose debut EP Murder/Casper’s Theme caught international attention with its unique electronic soundscapes. The release is set to feature remixes from Detroit’s Rick Wade and Jimmy Edgar alongside Sydney’s Cliques.

We’re definitely looking forward to the releases from Plastic World. Stay tuned to ACCLAIM for news about when they drop.
