After months of waiting, and months of rumours, the first round of announcements for the Beyond the Valley 2016/2017 festival is finally here — and it’s a doozy!

After years of waiting, and a few missed opportunities, hip-hop fans in Australia will finally get a chance to see Chicago superstar Chance the Rapper live for his very first appearance on an Australian stage, as the Colouring Book rapper has been announced as the headline act for 2016/2017’s Beyond the Valley lineup.

Supported by Triple J, Beyond the Valley has also included such acts as Grammy-nominated producer ZHU, Australian songstress Montaigne, electronic superstar What So Not, grime talent (and brother of Skepta) JME, and Kanye West collaborator Hudson Mohawke, as artists featured in the first round of announcements for the festival’s lineup.

Browse the full first round of announcements for the line-up in the gallery above.

Beyond The Valley will be a four-day event held at Lardner Park in Warragul, 90 minutes to Melbourne’s east, between December 28 2016 and January 1 2017, with four day tickets starting at $420, three day tickets $320, two day tickets $340 and single day NYE for $150. Pre-sale tickets sold out in record time, so head over to www.beyondthevalley.com.au to secure yours before it’s too late, and watch for more announcements to be made in the months to come.
