In an unexpected (yet entirely unoriginal) move, pioneering hip hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are only releasing one copy of their upcoming final album and setting the price at a very G $1 million. Band member Krayzie Bones told Hip Hop DX of the plans, just as the group are about to embark on their final international tour as a five-piece, and was fairly unapologetic on where they got inspiration for the high-priced promotion.

“When I heard about what [Wu-Tang Clan] was doing—and I think it was you who told me about it—I just thought it was a brilliant and genius idea. We talked about it for a while then we were coming up on this world tour. We said, ‘We need to do everything simultaneously. The idea for that is to make it the final group project. What better way to go out and to solidify the [Bone thugs-n-harmony] brand. I don’t see no other way. It has to be big. We have to make sure we reach everybody. So I think doing it like this will be huge, especially for our last group album.”

The album single physical copy, which will be titled E.1999/Legends, will be sold via auction, with an opening bid of $1 million. Read more from Krayzie’s exclusive conversation, including the very eclectic wishlist of musical collaborators, here.
