As we announced just days ago, the irrepressible Chance the Rapper has made his acting debut in the rather confronting short film Mr Happy. Directed by Colin Tilley, whom he met on the set of Justin Biebers’ video for ‘Confident’, Chancellor plays Victor, a non-complacent store worker at Supply Guyz who contemplates suicide on the daily but doesn’t have the guts to go through with it on his own.

Trying everything from asphyxiation to prescription meds, Vic discovers the online service MrHappy.com who will handle the business for a premium, to which he sets the date to end it all on Valentines Day. As with any doom and gloom story there’s always a realisation by the character that sets the scene for a riveting ending which we will leave you to discover yourself.

On working with Chance for this project, Tilley said he had a strong connection with the Chi-town rapper almost immediately and knew he was a good fit for the role. ‘Chance is one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met and right away I was like, this dude is really special. We talked about film and he was telling me how he wanted to get more involved in it. Crazily enough, he had a lot of the same taste in weird movies as I do’
