The awesome thing about Twitter is that we mere mortals are able to witness the conversations between our favourite (or most hated) celebrities and while we’ve been more recently exposed to weird rants or rap beefs, this tweet from Childish Gambino to songstress Jhene Aiko is a little sweeter.

Reportedly produced by Chicago beatmaker Stefan Ponce the track called ‘Melrose’ has that romantic air of most Aiko tracks, but with “Someone gave you all my love” in Gambino’s falsetto scattered throughout. The pair have maintained the age-old ‘good friends’ line when quizzed about the nature of their relationship in recent interviews but this cryptic tweet could be adding fuel to the ever-present “are they, aren’t they” fire. And Jhene’s own tweet, shortly after the original, isn’t helping matters.
someone gave you all my love

Maybe, like a hopeless romantic, I’m overthinking the whole thing. Maybe the two are actually just homies with a strictly professional working relationship and are only interested in making good music in the studio. Boring. I kind of like the idea of them making beautiful music together – if you know what I mean.
Either way, I’m sure we’ll get some confirmation on what the two are collaborating on (musically or otherwise) in the near future. In the meantime, you can take a listen to ‘Melrose’ below.
