With pretty much no warning, promoters for Chris Brown’s Australian tour, which was set to kick off in Perth next week, have confirmed that the shows have been cancelled. A statement has appeared on the Ticketek page for Brown’s tour, but doesn’t outline any specific reason for the surprise cancellation.

“Statement from Chris Brown’s Promoter;
Chris Brown’s December 2015 tour in both Australia and New Zealand will not take place. The shows scheduled at Perth Arena on 9 December, Rod Laver Arena on 12 December, Allphones Arena on 14 December and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 16 December are cancelled.  Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future. Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”

The case against Brown’s entry into Australia has been made very loudly but his team haven’t indicated whether or not this had anything to do with the cancellation. It was last reported that Brown’s visa would most likely be denied by our government and his team would need to appeal within the required timeframe to ensure the singer could enter and perform in Australia.

Those that have purchased tickets can check Ticketek for full refund details.
