Ahead of their second EP entitled A Warm Reception, I’lls premiere their newest single Speak Low exclusively here on ACCLAIM.
The Melbourne band, who say they started the project to get out of uni work while they were studying jazz together, is made up of Dan Rutman on guitar, Hamish Mitchell on keys and Simon Lam supplying the vocals and drums. Emerging on the scene in 2011, they were quickly booked to play Parklife Festival after putting just one track on Bandcamp and their debut EP Thread was a fresh sounding take on experimental and electronic pop. After signing to Astral People and Yes Please! the band has stepped up the pace of their production, already releasing one track Plans Only Drawn, the stunning video of which you can see here, and their latest work has a developed approach, which still captures the uniqueness of their sound.
Speak Low is delicately arranged, and, with its haunting vocals and intricate percussion, it’s the lush sound to escape a rainy afternoon, like today in Melbourne. Listen below and check out our feature interview with the guys.
