The artist behind the single ‘Panda‘ returned this year to bring us the hella catchy track ‘Tiimmy Turner’ and left a fair few of us scratching our heads as we tried (and failed) to make sense of the lyrics. Luckily for us, Genius has (finally) begun releasing “lyric videos” and they sensibly started with decoding arguably the most confusing song of the year, ‘Tiimmy Turner’.

Made in collaboration with artist Albert Omoss and Violet Office, the dark clip is made slightly less convoluted by the captions, which shed light on Desiigner’s thought processes and lyrical decisions. As a fair few of us growing up in the golden era of cartoons (aka the ’90s) would know, Timmy Turner is a character fromthe Nickelodeon series Fairly OddParents and the extra ‘i’ was included to match Desiigner’s rap name.

“I care about my lyrics. I have my own way of saying things—I call it new English,” Desiigner says. “When it came time to do the ‘Tiimmy Turner’ lyric video, I knew Genius would help me bring the words to life.”

The New York native is one of the latest signees to Kanye West’s record label GOOD Music, Inc. so it looks like we will be hearing a fair bit from the 19-year-old.
