Girl Zone’s first ever video and second ever single ‘Flex On Them’ debuts today and we’re more than a little excited to share it with you. The group is made up of five Fitzroy girls; Nyawech, Akuech, Atong, Zoe, and Achol. They’ve been rapping since they were around eight or nine years old, but in the short time they’ve been making music, Girl Zone has already supported Noname and Tank and the Bangaz. The girls grew up together, playing basketball, and spending their spare time at Fitzroy Clubhouse (now Reach Youth Music Studios) rapping over beats.
The ‘Flex On Them’ video features the group in a smoky blue boxing ring, spitting bars and owning men twice their height in the ring. If this video is anything to go by, it looks like we can expect big things from the Fitzroy girl trap collective. To learn more about the Reach Youth Music Studios project, head here.
