Weekly updates

It’s almost impossible to say how much the electronic music scene has exploded across Australia over the last two years. From producers taking home ARIAs to being championed by mainstream radio. Perhaps the biggest sign of the new popularity of this weirdo-outsider-dance-music that emerged from the bedrooms of square-eyed musicians and fell off internet-only playlists is the fact that Red Bull Music Academy has (for the second year running) curated a stage at one of the country’s biggest festivals: Splendour in the Grass. ACCLAIM has put together a handful of the musicians from their stage that you cannot miss under any circumstances (yes, even Outkast’s set). Let’s get weird.

Honourable mentions: Rising hip-hop star Remi, the legendary Peanut Butter Wolf, the unstoppable future-soul collective Hiatus Kaiyote, the dancefloor terror of Africa Hitech, NZ soul singers Jordan Rakei and Louis Baker – oh hell, pitch your tent at the RBMA stage and stay for the whole line-up. It’s worth it.
