Talk of a possible collaboration between K. Dot and English musician James Blake has arisen after the two met at SXSW last month. According to Blake’s manager Dan Foat, the two stumbled across each other at the event and the idea of working together on Blake and Foat’s new label ‘1-800-Dinosaur’ was discussed, Foat saying if it were to transpire “it would be great to release it via 1-800-Dinosaur and their label Top Dawg Entertainment in the States.”
Although K. Dot and James Blake seem like they belong at two different ends of the spectrum, this possible collab wouldn’t be Blake’s first time dabbling in the hip-hop genre, with his upcoming ‘Overgrown’ including a guest feature from Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA.
Exciting as the possibility may seem, according to Blake’s manager the idea is “pure conjecture” at the moment, due to the busy schedules of both artists. Watch this space.
