The world pays tribute to Phife Dawg Questlove, Chance The Rapper, Pharrell Williams, and more reflect on their favourite memories of the Five Foot Assassin
Music
In honour of the late Phife Dawg, Tim Westwood has come through again with his unheard and unreleased freestyles. On this track we get a 1999 Phife rapping with a verse from both Wildchild and Madlib.
Artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Chris Rock, Mac Miller, Chance the Rapper and Questlove have been paying their tributes to the A Tribe Called Quest rapper, who passed away at the age of 45 last week.
The whole track goes through without a stumble on his part, and his lyrical control can’t go unnoticed as he raps about his undeniable ability to freestyle. Spitting for more than two minutes straight, he pays tribute to his Trinidad roots as he goes off the dome, reminding you that he was, and always will be, “number one.”
