Abel Tesfaye, the ambiguous 23-year-old Canadian behind The Weeknd, continues to tease the world in the agonising buildup to his sophomore LP Kiss Land which is due for release on September 10.

‘Love in the Sky’ has a deep, brooding R&B beat serving as a rich backdrop to Tesfaye’s trademark fragile falsetto vocals. With lines like “I always get high ‘coz my confidence is low” and a hidden sample of a thunderstorm, this track is virtually the definition of sadwave hip hop. Does anyone have a tissue?
