Michelle Grace Hunder has been taking photos of the Australian hip-hop scene for around two years now, and has amassed a large body work featuring a number of striking live, studio and portrait shots of hip-hop artists.

To best showcase these extraordinary photos, Hunder, who’s also a regular contributor ACCLAIM, plans to release a self-published book of the hundred or so photos, and has been campaigning through Pozible in order to raise the projected $17, 343 that would cover costs of design, layout and printing. As reaching the figure seems reasonable (as of this article, Rise looks to have raised about $15,000), the book has been scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2014.

Rise features portraits of artists such as Drapht, Seth Sentry, Illy, Pez, Spit Syndicate, Remi, Mantra, M-Phazes, Hau Latukefu and many more. By donating to the fund you can take advantage of a number of offers like book pre-orders, bookmarks, posters, gig tickets, artist meet n greets, and even photo shoot with MGH (but that one will cost you $1,500).

The fundraising gig, which will be held at the Corner hotel December 5, will feature performances by Briggs, N’Fa Jones, Mantra and Grey Ghost, M-Phazes and co-campaigner Nate Flagrant.

If you’d like to see this become a reality, you can donate to the Rise fund.
