Nickesse Toney, known as Nicky Da B, has reportedly died at 24. The cause of Toney’s death is still unknown, however the news has been confirmed on Twitter by bounce pioneer Big Freedia.

His management also shared the following statement: “It is with heaviness in our hearts today that we confirm the passing of Nicky Da B. Nicky was a beautiful soul and we will always be grateful for his magnetic personality and loving spirit. We were inspired by his talent as much as his tireless optimism, compassion and humility. Our condolences go out to his family at this time.”

In 2012, Nicky Da B released the full-length album Don’t Forget About Da B and performed a sold out show at the Sydney Opera House. He was best known for his intense feature spot Diplo’s single ‘Express Yourself’.
