Yes, Outkast are reuniting after 10 years. Yes, they will be playing a 40-date festival run this year. But apparently the recent rumours of a new Outkast album aren’t actually true – yet.

It was reported that former manager Queen Latifah, let slip that the ATLiens were “chilling…about to work on a new album” in an interview with Howard Stern – of which the audio has now been conveniently removed from Youtube. Expectedly, in the midst of the worldwide Outkast fever, the internet blew up on this and we thought pretty much everything we’d ever wished was materialising before our eyes.

But what’s that thing they say about things that are too good to be true? The Queen has commented on this via Twitter, reneging the ‘confirmation’ and apologising for basically breaking our hearts. Thanks.

PS: the rumor mill says I predicted an @Outkast album…except I didn’t. Sorry to get twitter a flutter. XO

Hopefully this is just a minor setback in our quest for new Outkast material though. Fingers crossed there might be an actual official announcement from the band’s camp some time in the near future. Come on guys, this must be happening.
