The SoundCloud generation wouldn’t be much without the MySpace predecessors that established the viability of success from streaming. Amongst the typical Lil B and Arctic Monkeys stories, there’s a special notch carved in the website’s facade for French electropop group Yelle who broke into the mainstream French pop scene with nothing more than an unmastered online mp3 in 2005. Since then, they’ve enjoyed success well beyond the French-language bubble, releasing three albums over the last seven years, two of which charted in the US Dance charts top 10. Following the late-2014 release of their album Complètement Fou, they’ve announced dates for their 2015 Australian tour. More info on the tour after the interview break! Quelle merveille!
