‘It’s been a long time since we’ve played you anything new,’ says the Xx of their newest song from their forthcoming album, Coexist. That hasn’t been bootlegged, they perhaps should have added, but their new track and the first official preview from the album, Angels, has been worth the wait. Paring back the vocals and driving bass is a melancholic ode to ‘being in love with you as I am‘, which as usual for the London-based band captures youthful emotion between the fingertips of their hooks and lyrics.
